![]() Some time ago there was a discussion about OBS with rather fancy routing (with Realtek, Roland interface, SPDIF converters and ASIO DAW). sigh.įor OP that is too pricey solution, but I think that is worse to mention for pro environment: RME (any device + driver + TotalMix) ![]() Why the isn't this a thing! All this technology, and the common answer is "well, just have multiple audio interfaces and connect them with analog cables". Reaper even already has the resampling ability necessary to deal with applications running at different sample rates. Imagine that! Imagine if you could have reaper doing whatever you want to the audio for all your applications before it hits the sound card! Room correction, routing, recording, heck software crossovers if you want. Short of this being implemented in the operating system, the next best solution would be for reaper to emulate a normal windows audio device, with directx and wasapi emulation. This is somewhat possible with ASIO, but a PITA otherwise, requiring third party software that kinda works mostly, which isn't good enough for radio work. As someone who works in radio, I have a dream of the day when I can have have multiple different applications sending audio to and receiving audio from reaper, with reaper handling the audio interface I/O. Such a PITA, I rail every few months about how ridiculous it is that its still so hard to route audio between (non asio) programs. For peace of mind you may want to plug some wires into your onboard soundcard for the OBS input ![]()
